"HIS APPEARANCE IS TOO MARRED TO BE THAT OF A MAN, AND HIS FORM MARRED MORE THAN THE SONS OF MEN"

YESHAYAHU (Scroll of Isaiah ) CH.52:14

The most amazing and heart-rending Story ever told is that of the torture, shame and death of Yah`shua Hamoshiach.

We may never fully understand how or why it was that Yah`shua loved an Elohim-hating human race so much that He should feel compelled to suffer such torture, agony, and pain, and finally the most despicable and degrading death on their behalf.

AND YET IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE! HE DID CARE, LOVE, SUFFER AND DIE!!

AND RISE AGAIN FROM DEATH!!!

And by His sufferings and death he has brought to all who trust in Him a brand new life -

Salvation for the soul, Healing for the body, Freedom from guilt,

and -

Oh the Glory of it-

A Home in Heaven!

BUT HOW GREAT WERE THE TORTURES WHICH HE ENDURED??

THE TANACH SAYS THAT HE WAS DISFIGURED BEYOND RECOGNITION -

MARRED MORE THAN ANY HUMAN EVER WAS!!! .......

"AS MANY WERE ASTONISHED AT (THE SIGHT OF) YOU, SAYING "HIS APPEARANCE IS TOO MARRED TO BE THAT OF A MAN, AND HIS FORM MARRED MORE THAN THE SONS OF MEN"

(YESHAYAHU CH.52:14)

THE SHOCKING TRUTH IS THAT THE BIBLE PAINTS FOR US A PICTURE OF A MOSHIACH WHO WAS SO CRUELLY TORTURED THAT WHEN HIS CAPTORS WERE FINISHED WITH HIM - HE LOOKED MORE LIKE A PIECE OF MEAT THAT HAD BEEN BUTCHERED AND HUNG UPON A HOOK - THAN AN ACTUAL HUMAN BEING!!!

THE BIBLE SAYS THAT HIS BODY RESEMBLED A PLOUGHED FIELD WITH DEEP LONG CUTS AND FURROWS!!!!

(Tehillim (Psalms) ch:129)

The One who was nailed to that Tree bearing the punishment of a sickening World, was not a pretty sight to behold

THE BIBLE DOES NOT HIDE FROM OUR EYES THE ENORMOUS SUFFERING WHICH YAH`SHUA ENDURED FOR YOU AND I.

GOD wants you to know how much His Son went through, in order that we may realize how much our rebellion and sin cost Him. And in so recognising, surely then, we shall fully love and trust Him.

THE MOST MARVELLOUS AND WONDERFUL THING IS THAT WHEN YAHSHUA DIED ON THE TREE AT GULGOLATH - HE DIED SO THAT OUR SICKNESSES AND DISEASES, OUR SINS AND INIQUITIES, OUR SORROWS AND GRIEFS, OUR DESPAIRS AND HOPELESSNESS MAY BE BANISHED FOREVER - AND IN THEIR PLACE WE MAY RECEIVE SALVATION, HEALING, HOPE AND ALL THAT PERTAINS TO A LIFE OF JOY AND RIGHTEOUS FULFILMENT!!!

Let us then take a look at what Yah`shua endured........

Yeshayahu ch.53 vs. 4-10 give graphic illustration that Yah`shua,

"BORE OUR GRIEFS, CARRIED OUR SORROWS, WAS STRICKEN, SMITTEN AND AFFLICTED. BRUISED FOR OUR INIQUITIES AND WHIPPED IN ORDER THAT WE MAY BE HEALED!!!"

Now since the Scroll of Yeshayahu was written originally in Hebrew, let us see what really happened to this Suffering Saviour.

In verse 4, we read that Yah`shua has, `BORNE OUR GRIEFS` -

IN Hebrew this reads, - `ACHEN CHOLEY YENOO- HOO NASA` -

and LITERALLY means that He `BORE THE WEIGHT AND PAINS OF OUR SICKNESSES!!!`

In verse 4, He, `CARRIED OUR SORROWS` -

in Hebrew it reads, `UMACHO-VEINO-SEVALAM`

and LITERALLY means to be `CRUSHED DOWN BY A WEGHT OF PAIN-FILLED SORROWS`.

Now we begin to see that sickness and sorrows as well as sin and iniquity was crushed into and carried by Yah`shua HaMoshiach on our behalf.

Moving further into verse 4 we find that He was `STRICKEN` -

Hebrew - `NAGU MOO-KE ELOHIM` -

LITERALLY means to `STRIKE WITH PLAGUE FROM ELOHIM!`

CAN YOU SEE THE PICTURE EMERGING OF WHAT HE ENDURED FOR YOUR FREEDOM FROM DISEASE?

CAN YOU SEE EVERY FOUL AND LOATHSOME PLAGUE LATCHING ITSELF ONTO HIM - BEARING AND CRUSHING HIM DOWN WITH DEEP AGONISING SORROWS.???

THIS IS WHAT REALLY HAPPENED!

THIS IS WHAT HE WENT THROUGH FOR YOU!!

Now we begin to understand a little of His great, unfathomable love for Mankind!

The SCROLL OF YOCHANAN ch:3:16, says that,

"ELOHIM SO LOVED THE OLAM HAZEH, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES ON HIM, SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE CHAIM LE-OLAM-VA-ED"

HE GAVE.....HAVE YOU RECEIVED???

Moreover, in verse 4 of Yeshayahu`s record, we read that He was,

"SMITTEN" - Hebrew - "NAGUA" -

"TO BE SLAUGHTERED...TO BE BUTCHERED"

Can you picture the awful scene?

And finally, in verse 4 we are told that He was

"AFFLICTED" - Hebrew - "U-MOONE" -

"TO INTIMIDATE AND PUT TO SHAME IN THE PRESENCE OF OTHERS!!!"

One may ask, "In what manner was He intimidated and put to shame?

Well the Renewed Covenant declares that He was shamefully

"Stripped of His clothes by Italian Soldiers, laughed at, struck on the head, spat upon and mocked"

(Mattityahu ch:27vs.28-31).

My, how dare we call ourselves `TZADIK` or `CHRISTIAN` and live as if His sufferings, pain, agonies, and death mean nothing to us.

HE DIED TO CHANGE OUR WHOLE LIFE, ATTITUDES, THINKING, CHARACTER AND NATURE!!!

DO WE STILL SHAME HIM BY OUR LIFE-STYLE?

THESE TERRIFYING TORTURES WHICH YAH`SHUA UNDERWENT CAUSES A CRY TO RISE FROM OUR HEARTS,

"SURELY THAT IS ENOUGH!!"

BUT YET YESHAYAHU DECLARES THAT MORE DEEPER SUFFERINGS WERE TO BE REVEALED!!!

For in verse 5 we further read that,

"HE WAS WOUNDED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS, HE WAS BRUISED FOR OUR INIQUITIES" -

the Hebrew reads,

"VEHU MECHO-LAL MIP-SHENU MEDOO-KA ME-AVO-NO TEINO"

meaning -

"HE WAS MUTILATED BECAUSE OF (AND FOR) OUR PERVERSION AND SIN!"

AND THE FINAL CLAUSE OF VERSE 5 DECLARES,

"BY HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED!" -

Hebrew - "CHAVVU-RAH TO NIR-PA LANU" -

meaning to be -

"WHIPPED BLACK AND BLUE SO THAT WE MAY BE THOROUGHLY HEALED AGAIN!!"

O WONDER OF ALL WONDERS -

Can you see the Picture now coming into our view?? -

YAHUSHUA HAMOSHIACH TRULY BORE THE PENALTY AND PUNISHMENT FOR OUR SALVATION AND HEALING -

LITERALLY - IN HIS VERY OWN BODY -

SO THAT WE MAY BE PARDONED BY A RIGHTEOUS AND JUST ELOHIM -

AND BE SET FREE FROM SIN TO LOVE AND SERVE HIM

Finally, moving into verse 10, we read:

"YET IT PLEASED YAHUWEH TO BRUISE HIM, HE HAS PUT HIM TO GRIEF: WHEN YOU MAKE HIS SOUL AN OFFERING FOR SIN - HE SHALL SEE HIS SEED!"

In Hebrew this reads,

"YAHUWEH CHEPHETS DAKA CHELAH EEM TASYIM ASHAM NEPHSHO YIRAH-ZARA" -

and translated LITERALLY MEANS -

"YAHUWEH ACCEPTED HIS MUTILATION, DISEASE BEING RUBBED INTO HIM - SO THAT IF HE SHOULD PLACE HIS SOUL AS A GUILT OFFERING (FOR OTHERS) - HE SHALL SEE HIS OFFSPRING!!"

DAKA - MUTILATE: CHELAH - RUB IN DISEASE: ASHAM - GUILT OFFERING (A SUBSTITUTE IN PLACE OF ANOTHER).

In the Torah it is written, "He who is hanged (on a tree) is cursed by Elohim" ...(Devarim ch 21 vs.22/23)

This Yahushua HaMoshiach (Jesus Christ) bore the Dreadful Curse of Elohim, and because of that He was truly despised, rejected and hated by the Spiritual Leaders of Ancient Yisrael who had called for His Execution for He was regarded as an absolute Abomination in the sight of Yahuweh and a Defiler of the Sacred Land. (Devarim (Deuteronomy)  ch 21 vs 22/23)

BUT AS THE NAVI (Prophet) YESHAYAHU DECLARES IN HIS SCROLL, THIS MOSHIACH HIMSELF DID NO SIN, BUT RATHER HE BORE THE SINS AND PUNISHMENT OF OTHERS...

HE WAS THEIR "ASHAM"- THEIR SUBSTITUTE

NOW THE PICTURE HAS TRULY BECOME CLEAR!!

YAHOSHUA HAMOSHIACH STOOD IN AS OUR SUBSTITUTE ON THE EXECUTION STAKE OF GULGOLATH -

THAT WHICH WE DESERVED - HE TOOK ON HIMSELF -

HE ALONE- LITERALLY AND TOTALLY PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR SIN AND REBELLION.

HE BORE THE PUNISHMENT DUE TO US.

NOW WE ARE FREE - NOW WE ARE ADOPTED AS HIS CHILDREN -

AS HIS OFFSPRING - B`NAI YAHSHUA-

IF WE ACCEPT THE PARDON GRACIOUSLY OFFERED TO US!!

Little wonder the hymn-writer sang:

"He died that we might be forgiven,

He died to make us good,

That we might go at last to heaven,

SAVED BY HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD!!!

1st. Yochanan (1st Epistle of John) ch.1: 7-9, declares that,

"THE BLOOD OF YAHUSHUA HAMOSHIACH HIS SON, CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN....

IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS (TO YAHUWEH) HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS!!"

YOU CAN BE CLEAN TODAY!

WASHED PURE IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB OF GOD.

O ACCEPT HIS PARDON OFFERED TO YOU AND BE READY TO FACE LIFE, DEATH, AND ETERNITY WITH TRUE HOPE, PEACE AND CONFIDENCE!

PRAYER FOR HEARTFELT SALVATION:

Dear YAH`SHUA, I am truly sorry that my sins and selfish ways have caused You so much grief and pain. I thank You that you died on the Tree in my place and I do ask You to wash away all my sins by the Power of your Precious Blood. I now repent of all my sins and invite You into my heart and life to be my very own personal Moshiach. Fill me with Your blessed RUACH HAKODESH and help me to live for You every day of my life. I ask these things in Your Precious Name, YAHSHUA

HOW DEEP THE FATHER`S LOVE

How deep the Father’s love for us,
